There are various types of nouns, listed below:
- Common Noun
- Proper Noun
- Abstract Noun
- Concrete Noun
- Collective Noun
- Possessive Noun
- Singular Noun
- Plural Noun
- Regular Noun
Common Noun
A common noun refers to people or things in general, e.g. girl, city, street, happiness.
Proper Noun
A proper noun is a name that recognizes a specific individual, residence, or thing, e.g. Sumbal, Jamaica, , John, Harvard University, St. Bonaventure School. In written English, proper nouns always begin with capital letter.
Concrete Noun
A concrete noun refers to person and to things that physically exist and can be seen, touched, smelled, heard, or tasted. Examples include rat, plaza, tea, bullet train, rain.
Abstract Types of Nouns
An abstract noun refers to ideas, qualities, conditions and things that does not exist physically and cannot be seen or touched. e.g. fear, lie, happiness, love, wisdom.
Collective Types of Nouns
Collective nouns refer to groups of people and things, such as spectators, family, government, team, police. In American English, most collective nouns are cured as singular, with a singular verb:
The team was at the table.
Whereas, In British English, mostly treat the collective noun as a plural, with a plural verb.
Singular Noun
Singular Nouns are namely, single in number such as, out of 100 only one people.
Examples:
Donkey, Trump, baby, Oil, cat etc.
Plural Noun
The plural Nouns are determining more than one element, such as out of 100 people 40, 30, 83 etc people.
Examples:
tables, chairs, donkeys, Men etc.
Regular Noun
Regular Nouns are those noun that do not change in spelling when changed into plural; In regular nouns, only suffixes -s or -es are attached.

Irregular Noun
Irregular Nouns change in spelling while pluralized the nouns.
Examples:

Mouse | Mice |
Possessive Types of Nouns
A person that claims something is called as the Possessive Noun. These nouns for the most part end with a punctuation before one “s”.
Example:
- My dog’s major needs changing very soon.
- Amaar’s wacth is stolen.
- Your baby’s feeder is missing.
Verbal Types of Nouns
Verbal noun are used like gerund such as, add ing after any verb.
Example:

Material Types of Nouns
Noun that made up of tangible materials are known as Material Nouns. These are generally Uncountable Nouns.
Examples:
- She lack the fascination withSilver.
- Waterproduces renewable energy.
- Land contains 70% water.
Adverb: The airplane leaves yesterday.
Adjective: The Court building faces the mall.
Possession: The Dragon’s cage is dangerous. My Sister’s daughter is adorable.
